Impact of management on student well-being through the creation of school recreational spacesContenido principal del artículo
The study aimed to analyze the relationship between school management and student well-being through the evaluation of recreational spaces in urban public schools. An exploratory and descriptive quantitative approach was applied using structured questionnaires administered to students and teachers to assess perceptions of leadership, school culture, and recreational practices. Results indicated that both groups positively valued recreation as a key factor of well-being but highlighted limitations in planning and maintenance. A participatory school culture and accessible leadership enhanced social cohesion and a sense of belonging, whereas limited resources and weak institutional planning hindered the effective use of recreational spaces. It was concluded that student well-being depended not only on the physical existence of recreational areas but also on managerial capacity to integrate them into institutional planning as part of an inclusive and sustainable educational policy.
